Pile of Shame Update

So it’s roughly a month since I blogged last about my Pile of Shame. It’s actually taken me that time to complete Assassin’s Creed 2. I really enjoyed it so I took my time. I’ve got about 835 points in it which will do me fine. I don’t fancy going after the remaining few so onto the next game in the pile.

The pile…well the pile hasn’t gone quite as well as it could have. I did a very good job of resisting games purchases throughout January and much of February. Then I succumbed.

My pile of shame before consisted of 8 games –

Assassin’s Creed 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Deadly Premonition, Fallout: New Vegas, Halo Reach, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. 8 games.

Now I find myself with a pile of 8 games again –

Battlefield Bad Company 2, Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2 (yes I double dipped after reviewing it for the PS3), Deadly Premonition, Fallout: New Vegas, Halo Reach, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Still, at least I’m at the same number I suppose! The thing is, Dragon Age 2 will arrive later this week (the first game I’ve pre-ordered in a long, long time).

I’m currently working my way through Bulletstorm after a spontaneous purchase earlier this week (I had it pre-ordered, cancelled it, then bought it anyway). It’s good, mindless fun. It’s also a game that I can understand why people dislike it but I can also appreciate why others love it. I’m somewhere in between. I know that it’ll never be a highlight of the year for me but it scratches an itch I guess.

I was halfway through Dead Space 2 beforehand too so that won’t take long.

I certainly won’t rush any game but it’d be nice to clear another title’s single player in time for Dragon Age 2.

4 Thoughts to “Pile of Shame Update”

  1. That’s an awesome pile of shame Jen, at least it’s filled with pure quality. I’ve got one that’s just filled with shit, cheap Steam games.

  2. Please set yourself aside a few days for Deadly Premonition in the near future, Jen. I’m fascinated to see what you make of that.

I’m very keen to play it! That’s part of the problem really as I’m trying to find an ‘optimum’ time to play it.

It’s probably going to wait till after DA2 now though but it’s definitely on the cards.

  4. I maintained my own pile of games that begged to be finished but constantly got ignored. I keep my library lighter these and I enjoy the games I do play so much more.

Good luck! And yes, make room for DA2.
