I’m currently rather envious of those with the Friday feeling. I shouldn’t be really. They have that feeling because they’ve spent all week working and now get a couple of days where they can just relax.

The curse of working shifts and trying to make a name for yourself as a writer is that I don’t get the Friday feeling very often. I had Tuesday to Thursday off from the day job but they were busy with many other things (some good things at least!) and it doesn’t feel like a weekend when the rest of the world is still busy.

Today I’ve spent much of the day writing, ensuring that I’ve at least got some respite from writing this weekend. I’m at work from 5.30 tonight and also at work Saturday and Sunday night. I’ve currently no idea what hours I’m working next week but I’m expecting it to be a scary amount due to lots of people going on holiday at the same time. I’m already rather tired juggling lots of things so next week might well be knackering!

Payday next Friday at least. I won’t have a Friday feeling then either as I’ll be working all weekend but at least I’ll have money in my account!

For now though, I feel a teensy bit envious of those with the Friday feeling when I really shouldn’t. After all they probably envy me when I don’t have to get up at 7am on Monday morning!
